It has always been thought that women come to the world to be mothers, and in this thought we are limited to that condition. I think that motherhood is beautiful, it is wonderful to have the ability to procreate and give life. And I also think that motherhood is one of the many things that women can and should have the right to decide. But how difficult it is for us to make decisions about our bodies if we are educated from a young age thinking that being mothers is our best and maximum destiny in life, feeling the social pressure from girls and with more force when we grow up; Without the support of the state that recognizes and guarantees to women the real practice of this right and without supporting them so that they can exercise a joyful and healthy maternity. Today and because of the past and current struggles of so many women we have more options to realize our lives with fullness and happiness; But there is still much to do to ensure that our rights are respected. Hence the importance of encouraging the women of our family to study, participate in society, promote our talents, develop a critical thinking to face the problems of life with a purposeful attitude, know and assert our rights, teach and learn . Managing our lives will allow us to be free and happier people; And if we decide to have sons and daughters we can live the motherhood in a different way, where the love and attention that we deserve as human beings is shared without representing a barrier to our personal development. Being a mother should be an option, not a social imposition.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!! To whom they decided to be, to whom they had no choice and to whom swimming against the current decided not to be and to give birth to the courage to decide.
Should it be a decision of women?
Eveling, Guatemalan: “I think that one can make the decision of how many children she wants to have, when and if she wants to or not, but in many couples the man decides how many children to have and the woman has to have them. I think it is right for the woman to decide, because it is the body of the woman and it is the woman who suffers not the man. Sometimes people discriminate against women who do not want to be mothers because they think they do not work well. This is a special day because that’s when moms celebrate their day. “
Daysi, Guatemalan. 15, high school student: “I think women should have the freedom to choose what we want to do because in practice they are the ones who care and I do not think that someone should say to a woman who does not have children or who does. Have children; She must have that freedom. It is important to respect the decision of women who do not want children. This day I thank the mothers for everything they do and it is good to have a special day with them. “
Susana, Peruana: “I think that all women should be able to decide how many and at what time to have them, if they want. Now that we are in the Twentieth Century there is more equality for women as for men and having or not having children depends on each person. Above all, they are children who are desired to give them much love. Mother’s Day is every day and I take this opportunity to greet all the mothers of the world, may God bless them more and more. “
Alexis, Guatemalan, Construction: “I think in part yes, well sometimes yes, women have the right to decide whether they want to be moms or not. The truth is that there are couples where both decide and that would be ideal. In Guatemala they say as a mockery that women who do not have children are going to become nuns because they are passing their age. It’s complicated because if they decide not to have children because they have to say that. This day means to celebrate the mothers, to talk to them from here because one is far away and it feels sad not to have them close.”
Abel de México, Construction: “Yes, it is true that women should have the right to decide if they want to be mothers and how many children they want to have and when, because it is their life and their body and they must respect and respect themselves. It is difficult to say how society sees women who decide not to have children, I do not know much about it but I think they see them wrong. This is a special day. “
Silvia, Mexican. Cleaning houses: “Yes you have to decide how many children you want to have, if you want. I have three children and I stopped there. There are places where they support you to decide and not to continue bringing children to the world that you can not feed. Men are the ones who think that a woman has to have many children, but most of all, because men often leave, and women are left alone with their children working very hard and even have to ask the government for help Because many times men do not help them and that they are also children of them. It is very difficult for women. Mother’s Day in the United States is to remember and congratulate our moms who are in Mexico, and those of us here need government support to stay, because our children were born here and we can not separate from them. “
Laura, Guatemalan, cleaning houses: “I think we do have the right to decide for our own lives and not others. If we want to have children we have to think intelligently and not have so many and then not be able to take them forward. There should be advice for women who want to have children and support them in determining how many children they can support. I think that some people will discriminate and others will applaud women who decide not to have children, but it is always a decision of them. This is a very, very special day because of the sacrifices they make for the children, Mother’s Day should be celebrated every day. “
