We need your help to make this a beautiful countermeasure to hate and division.
Patriot’s Prayer, an alt-right group, is hosting a rally at Crissy Field this Saturday, August 26th, right here in San Francisco. While the group claims to be peaceful, the armed militia group known as the Oath Keepers will be providing “security” for the event. We expect this to attract other white supremacists and neo-Nazis who are known to incite violence. In solidarity with other activists, Indivisible SF is organizing a presence both at Crissy Field and at Civic Center for those who want to participate in nonviolent counter-protest. See below for further details.
On Saturday, August 26 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., join the members of SF Indivisible. Meeting point at Marina Green, Marina Blvd. between Scott St. and Filmore St. To jointly hold the Counter-protest at Crissy Field: Stand in peaceful opposition to white supremacy. This action is non-confrontational, and participants must commit to disciplined nonviolence. While we are working on safety precautions, please note that showing up at Crissy Field inherently poses real physical danger. Extremist ralliers might be armed.
Note: To protect members of this organization, we are currently NOT planning to publicly identify as Indivisible SF at this event. Please leave branded Indivisible shirts, signs, etc. at home.
Rally at Castro and March to Civic Center: Show that we San Franciscans outnumber the haters in peaceful fashion. Several groups (including Women’s March, LovedUp, Unafraid, Juanita More, and Mobile Dance Party) are joining forces for this event. It will begin in the Castro at 12pm with a rally, followed by a march to Civic Center.
Sunday, August 27th. There is another white supremacy event at the MLK Civic Center Park in Berkeley. A non-violent counter-rally will be held on the other side of the city on the UC campus from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Ohlone Park, Hearst Ave. and MLK Jr. Way, Berkeley, CA.
