This May, the 27th Annual Asian Pacific Heritage Festival in Marin was held at Marin / Novato YMCA. Communities from countries such as Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Korea, Thailand, India and China were present with their dances, typical costumes, music, food, languages ​​and traditions in a fabulous parade of artistic talent.
The migrant population, with its diverse communities, brings to the United States an impressive cultural wealth. Like the people, the traditions and customs coexist in this country benefiting all, allowing at the same time to know how they see and feel the world.
The event, organized by the Asian American Alliance of Marin and co-sponsored by the Marin Chinese Cultural Association and Dominican University of California; Allows us to recognize the importance of these ancient cultures that with their coloring are certainly a joy for the soul.

“This event it is an Asian heritage and Asian is just all big group of people, either differents countries, either we look the same, be look different, I just want to help participating here. I’m from Thailand but I love to do belly dance, bollywood dance, bangladesh dance and also Flamenco dance. I like to donate my time and my dance to non profits organization, so I do all this dances and I also teach some classes at city and county in San Francisco, they have a wellness center and I teach belly dance and bollywood dance. I think is important to share our cultures I like to do it through the dance, because a dance is a dance and is a way you express your feelings, and made you happy.” Pat Reynolds, Tailandesa.
